Did you know there have been three Lady Diana Spencer’s in history ?
This book tells the story of an earlier Lady Diana Spencer born in 1734 , daughter of Charles Spencer the 3rd Duke of Marlborough.
This Lady Diana led a very different life to Princess Diana, she was Lady of the bed chamber in the royal court of King George the III.
Her first marriage was to the 2nd Viscount Bolingbroke, but it was an unhappy marriage and it broke up in 1768 due to her countless affairs.
She married again to Topham Beauclerk an artist who drew illustrations for books, together they had four children and when he died in 1780 Lady Diana began to lead a much quieter life.
This book has been very well written by it’s author Carola Hicks and we would definitely recommend it for if you would like to learn more about Princess Diana’s ancestors.
